IPV6 stands for Internet Protocol Version 6 and it is the latest Internet communication protocol. It offers an identification and site system for computers configured on network and channels traffic over the internet. IPv6 was launched by IETF for dealing with lingering problems of address exhaustion issue of IPv4.
IPv6 was launched for substitution of IPv4, however, according to the statistics of May 2014, IPv4, is still responsible for carrying more than 96% of Internet traffic globally.
