Agile is a software development methodology based on delta increments in functionality in contrast to traditional waterfall model.
Certifications: PMI-ACP (Project Management Institute’s Agile Certified Practitioner. The certifying body is Project Management Institute, USA.
Target Audience: Project Managers, Technical/Project Leads, Technical/Product Architects, Analysts, Developers, Program Managers, Test engineers and documentation engineers who are either working in an agile project environments or use agile practices in their projects.
Eligibility Criteria: There are 3 areas of eligibility required as below:
1. General project experience: minimum 2000 hrs of working on project teams in the last 5 years or an active PMP certification holder.
2. Agile experience: minimum 1500 hrs of working on projects teams using agile practices in the last 3 years. This is in addition to the general project experience as given in point #1 above.
3.Agile training: minimum 21 hours of contact hours of training on agile practices. Certification Process: To get the certification, one must meet the eligibility criteria and then pass the exam conducted by PMI through their authorized test centers across the world. The exam will test the knowledge on agile fundamentals.
PMI-ACP Training: the training helps the aspirant to get the 21 contact hours as stipulated by PMI for eligibility. The training covers agile fundamentals, agile metrics and complete agile project life cycle practices starting from requirement gathering to project completion. The duration of a typical training is between 2-3 days.
Scrum: Scrum is one of the most successful methodologies from the staple of agile software development methodologies.
Certifications:CSM (Certified Scrum Master), CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner), CSD(Certified Scrum Developer),CSP (Certified Scrum Professional),CSC (Certified Scrum Coach) and CST (Certified Scrum Trainer)
Certifying Body: Scrum Alliance
Target Audience:Project Managers, Technical/Project Leads, Technical/Product Architects, Analysts, Developers, Program Managers, Test engineers and documentation engineers who are interested in learning Scrum methodology or is expected to work in a scrum project.
Eligibility Criteria:CSM Training from a CST (Scrum Certified Trainer). CSM Certification Process: Participants must attend the CSM training program dewwwred by a CST. After the 2-days training, an online CSM test has to be attempted and passed within the next 90 days.The online test is administered by Scrum Alliance. After passing the test, CSM certificate will be awarded along with a 2 years membership at Scrum Alliance.
Training:The 2 days training will be conducted by a CST. The training will introduce Scrum methodology and cover the entire project life cycle practices using scrum. The training includes access to the online CSM test administered by Scrum Alliance. Remarks:16 PMI PDU’s can be earned with the training.
