Target Audience: Project developers, program designers, test engineers, documentation engineers, team members, team leads, module leads, program managers, QA & project Managers, Project or Onsite co-ordinators, Project Leads, PMO office representatives, Delivery Heads, Practice Managers and Project Consultants. Typically those who do not meet the eligibility criteria of PMP® take the CAPM® certification.

Criteria for Eligibility: Basically, 3 areas of eligibilities are required:

Basic Education: At least a secondary degree (diploma or associate degree ). Higher degrees are obviously allowed. E.g. Bachelors 4 year degree.
Project Experience: 1500 hours of project experience OR Minimum 23 contact hours of training or education on project management.

Process of Certification: For getting the certification, the aspirant should meet the criteria’s for eligibility and also pass the CAPM® exam, which is conducted by PMI . This is conducted across the world. The vouchers for the exam can be directly purchased @ PMI itself.

CAPM® Training: The program helps the CAPM® aspirant to receive the minimum 23 contact hrs as strictly stipulated by PMI for eligibility. The training covers the Project Management Framework based on PMBoK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) . The training covers project lifecycle, mgmt. process groups, and knowledge areas. The key project management processes like Scope management, Project Time management, Project Cost management, Project Quality mgmt. are covered as well in detail. The duration of a typical CAPM® course is between 2-3 days.
